My original idea was to make this in oranges and reds reminiscent of a sunrise, but then the oriental theme presented itself and that was that. The original block was 15" square. After the blocks were constructed they were cut down to 12" from different parts of the original block. Original pattern by Nancy Henry & Mimi Winder

I like to use simple patterns to showcase fabrics. This quilt has a flying geese border. Machine pieced, machine quilted, batik cotton fabrics, Quilters Dream cotton batting.

bag of Celestial scraps and thought they would work well for this pattern. Somehow, this
particular bag of scraps never seems to get smaller. I quilted the background with a
variegated cotton thread to add interest. Machine pieced, machine quilted, cotton fabrics and
batting.

pallet was a relief after dealing with a long period of illness. The title "Celebration" refers to
the Celebration of his life and the unconventional interests he had. This quilt uses the same
fabrics as "Party Geese". Machine pieced, machine quilted with Sulky rayon thread, button
embellishments, cotton fabric and cotton batting.
